LES RÉSULTATS EN FRANÇAIS

Une évolution très erratique du DJIA depuis un an. L’indice n’a dépassé le seuil des 11000 que pendant deux périodes relativement courtes fin avril et fin octobre. Il est était plutôt difficile de prévoir qu’au début novembre il serait au dessus des 11 000 points. La décision de Ben Bernanke de faire tourner la planche à billet a donné encore un coup de pouce supplémentaire.
2. La réforme de du projet de couverture de santé sera votée par le Congrès (indépendant du contenu de cette réforme)
Historique est le mot qui revient dans presque tous les titres des journaux américains. Certes, le projet de loi n’est pas aussi ambitieux que le texte initial souhaité par Barack Obama. Certes la manière manque un peu de panache puisque le vote a fait appel à la procédure dite de réconciliation, une sorte de 49-3 permettant non pas de passer en force, mais seulement de contourner la stupide procédure du filibuster qui permet de bloquer le vote du Sénat à moins d’avoir la supermajorité des 60 votes.
Mais le projet est finalement passé et non sans peine. Voilà près de 15 mois que Barack Obama « mouille la chemise » pour transformer ce projet en réalité et élargir à quelque 32 million d’américains l’accès à une couverture maladie. C’est la première grande victoire de Barack Obama dont il avait fait un des principaux projets de sa mandature et qui redore une image plutôt ternie ces derniers temps. Mais c’est sans doute une victoire empoisonnée qui lui a couté une partie de sa défaite électorale.

Au 6 novembre, les démocrates gardent 53 sièges et les républicains en acquièrent 46. Et le siège restant ?
