Trois mois après son entrée à la maison blanche et quatre visites de Steve Witkoff au Kremlin (la quatrième est à venir), voilà où on en est arrivé. Donald Trump propose un « plan de paix » qui va au-delà des attentes russes et ne donne quasiment aucune garantie à l’Ukraine.
Les points de ce plan présenté le 22 avril par le magazine en ligne Axios (Trump’s “final offer” for peace requires Ukraine to accept Russian occupation) étaient les suivants :
What Russia gets under Trump’s proposal
- “De jure” U.S. recognition of Russian control in Crimea.
- “De-facto recognition” of the Russia’s occupation of nearly all of Luhansk oblast and the occupied portions of Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia.
- A promise that Ukraine will not become a member of NATO. The text notes that Ukraine could become part of the European Union.
- The lifting of sanctions imposed since 2014.
- Enhanced economic cooperation with the U.S., particularly in the energy and industrial sectors.
Donald Trump ne pouvait ne pas savoir que Volodymyr Zelinsky ne pouvait pas accepter, ne serait-ce que le premier point.
Pas la voix de son vice-président, il a dit que c’était à prendre ou à laisser et que dans l’hypothèse où les deux parties n’accepteraient pas, il s’en laverait les mains.
Du coup, puisque Zelinsky a déclaré qu’il ne pouvait accepter ce plan, Donald Trump a le parfait bouc-émissaire pour déverser sa bile.
Donc pas d’accord de paix, mais ce n’est pas sa faute, mais celle de Zelinsky, Biden et même Obama.
Et bien sûr, “…that would have never started if I were President!”
