On pourrait les classer en trois catégories :
– Ceux comme Chris Christie, Asa Hutchinson ou encore Will Hurd qui critique clairement les actions de Donald Trump ;
– Ceux comme Nikki Haley ou Mike Pence qui veulent laver plus plus blanc en n’osant pas directement pas critiquer l’ancien président, pour de multiples raisons ;
Doug Burgum | Governor of North Dakota (2016–present) | Pas de commentaires |
Chris Christie | Governor of New Jersey (2010–2018) Candidate for president (2016) U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey (2002–2008) | The events around the White House from election night forward are a stain on our country’s history & a disgrace to the people who participated. This disgrace falls the most on Donald Trump. He swore an oath to the Constitution, violated his oath & brought shame to his presidency. |
Ron DeSantis | Governor of Florida (2019–present) U.S. Representative from FL-06 (2013–2018) | As President, I will end the weaponization of government, replace the FBI Director, and ensure a single standard of justice for all Americans. While I’ve seen reports, I have not read the indictment. I do, though, believe we need to enact reforms so that Americans have the right to remove cases from Washington, DC to their home districts. Washington, DC is a “swamp” and it is unfair to have to stand trial before a jury that is reflective of the swamp mentality. One of the reasons our country is in decline is the politicization of the rule of law. No more excuses -I will end the weaponization of the federal government. |
Larry Elder | Host of The Larry Elder Show (1993–2022) Candidate for Governor of California in the 2021 recall election | |
Nikki Haley | Ambassador to the United Nations (2017–2018) Governor of South Carolina (2011–2017) South Carolina State Representative (2005–2011) | Pas de commentaires |
Will Hurd | U.S. Representative from TX-23 (2015–2021) | @WillHurd in Iowa: “Donald Trump is not running for president to make America great again…Donald Trump is running to stay out of prison…Listen, I know the truth is hard, but if we elect Donald Trump, we are willingly giving Joe Biden four more years in the White House.” (Commentaire fait avant l’inculpation de Donald Trump) |
Asa Hutchinson | Governor of Arkansas (2015–2023) Under Secretary of Homeland Security (2003–2005) Administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration (2001–2003) | Exactly one year ago, I told the @washingtonpost that Trump had disqualified himself from ever being President again. Today’s #TrumpIndictment reinforced that. America deserves a leader who respects the rule of law. —- I have always said that Donald Trump is morally responsible for the attack on our democracy. Now, with today’s indictment, our system of Justice will determine whether he is criminally responsible. |
Perry Johnson | Founder of Perry Johnson Registrars, Inc. (1994–present) | Posté avant l’inculpation |
Mike Pence | Vice President of the United States (2017–2021) Governor of Indiana (2013–2017) | Today’s indictment serves as an important reminder: anyone who puts himself over the Constitution should never be President of the United States. — Our country is more important than one man. Our constitution is more important than any one man’s career. On January 6th, Former President Trump demanded that I choose between him and the Constitution. I chose the Constitution and I always will. |
Vivek Ramaswamy | Executive chairman of Strive Asset Management (2022–present) CEO of Roivant Sciences (2014–2021) | Jack Smith has created a dangerous precedent by criminalizing the behavior of Trump’s lawyers who offered him legal advice, labeling them co-conspirators instead. This jeopardizes the future of our legal system. If we fail to admit the truth, Jan 6 will just be a preview of far worse to come. We must reunite this country, but the path forward will not be easy. — A déclaré à plusieurs reprises qu’il pardonnerait Donald Trump s’il était élu |
Tim Scott | U.S. Senator from South Carolina (2013–present) U.S. Representative from SC-01 (2011–2013) South Carolina State Representative (2009–2011) | I remain concerned about the weaponization of Biden’s DOJ and its immense power used against political opponents. What we see today are two different tracks of justice. One for political opponents and another for the son of the current president. — We’re watching Biden’s DOJ continue to hunt Republicans, while protecting Democrats. |
Francis Suarez | Mayor of Miami (2017–present) Member of the Miami City Commission (2009–2017) | A déclaré qu’il pardonnerait Donald Trump « pour réunir le pays » |
Donald Trump | President of the United States (2017–2021) Chairman of The Trump Organization (1971–2017) | THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!!! I HAVE NEVER HAD SO MUCH SUPPORT ON ANYTHING BEFORE. THIS UNPRECEDENTED INDICTMENT OF A FORMER (HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL!) PRESIDENT, & THE LEADING CANDIDATE, BY FAR, IN BOTH THE REPUBLICAN PARTY AND THE 2024 GENERAL ELECTION, HAS AWOKEN THE WORLD TO THE CORRUPTION, SCANDAL, & FAILURE THAT HAS TAKEN PLACE IN THE UNITED STATES FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS. AMERICA IS A NATION IN DECLINE, BUT WE WILL MAKE IT GREAT AGAIN, GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE. I LOVE YOU ALL!!! |
